To be eligible for membership, you must be accepted to, enrolled in, or a graduate from a PT or PTA program that is accredited or is seeking or has been granted candidacy status by the Commission on Accreditation for Physical Therapy Education (program must be accredited at time of graduation).

Are You Eligible?

PHYSICAL THERAPIST (PT) & PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT (PTA) APPLICANTS

In order to qualify for PT or PTA membership, you must be a graduate of an accredited PT or PTA program. Membership is effective for 12 months. Previous student membership in the Association is neither a necessity nor a sufficient condition or qualification for PT or PTA membership.

NOTE: If educated abroad and living in the United States, you must submit a credentials evaluation or proof of licensure in the United States along with your application for membership.

POST-PROFESSIONAL STUDENT APPLICANTS

In order to qualify for this post-professional student membership, you must submit verification that you are enrolled full-time in an advanced postprofessional program, your anticipated completion date, and that you meet all of the qualifications for PT membership (see the PT Section above for details). Transition DPT students are not eligible for this student membership.

STUDENT APPLICANTS

In order to qualify for student membership, you must be accepted to or enrolled in a PT or PTA program that is accredited or is seeking or has been granted candidacy status by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
